About Me

My photo
Judi Varnai Aronson
You can say that I began to design jewelry when I was 7 years old. We were immigrants from Hungary and my mom had a job as a bookkeeper for a costume jewelry company. To make extra money, my family strung necklaces at night. I have always dabbled in the arts, I have been a potter, photographer and now a jewelry designer. My ceramics were once on display at the Brooklyn Museum, and one of my phototgraphs has won an award. I have studied art at Parsons, Brooklyn Museum and recently took silversmithing at 3rd Ward in Williamsburg. I look for beads and findings wherever I travel. Some of my favorite pieces were bought in Nepal, Italy, Bali, Cambodia, India, Peru and Israel. I spend time also looking for vintage beads and findings and often combine the old with the new to create unique pieces. No two pieces are ever the same. I have scoured small towns in California and upstate New York to find unusual beads, findings, chains and pendants. I use the finest gemstones and findings to create my pieces.
